The Butler County Board of Education is accepting applications for the following positions in the Butler County School System.  Applications for certified positions may be completed on-line through the Alabama State Department of Education’s website, Teach in Alabama at  www.alsde.edu .   Support personnel application forms may be obtained on this website or by contacting the Butler County Board of Education, 211 School Highlands Road, Greenville, Alabama, (334) 382-2665 or on our website at www.butlerco.k12.al.us.  They should be submitted to this same address.  Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.  A copy of the Salary Matrix for salary information is attached as a part of this notice.  Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS

Instructional Coach (Reading K-3) Appropriate Alabama teacher certification required.
Bookkeeper - Central Office High school diploma or equivalent; Minimum of two (2) years clerical experience; Post-secondary training in secretarial and/or accounting preferred.  Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of bookkeeping and the ability to apply this knowledge to work situations.  Ability to prepare complete and accurate accounting records and statements.  Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data and to prepare reports from such records.  Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.  Data entry experience and ability to operate a, calculator and other standard office machines.  Knowledge of computers and their operation and ability to use designated software.
Special Education Services Teacher Appropriate Alabama teacher certification required.

Dropout Prevention Advisor Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required.  Must have successful experience working with students at risk (not restricted to the classroom). Serves as an advocate for students at risk of dropping out of school or not graduating and provides them with access to available educational opportunities, services, support, and community resources to further improve students’ abilities to succeed. 
School Bus Drivers High school diploma or equivalent.  Valid Alabama Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement and verification of an acceptable driving record.  Minimum of five (5) years licensed driving experience.  Certification as school bus driver by Alabama SDE.  Completion of drug, alcohol, and background screening as required by state and federal statutes.
Pre-K Instructional Aides CDA (Child Development Associate) certification required
Custodians Previous experience preferred
Child Nutrition Program Workers Previous experience preferred
School Secretary High school diploma or equivalent required. School Nurses (RN and LPN) Current unencumbered Alabama nursing license.  Completion of accredited nursing program.  Three years of successful experience in pediatric, public health, or school nursing preferred.  Current CPR certification required.
Instructional Aides/Special Education Services Aides Associate Degree or 2 years of college and passing score on WorkKeys assessment required.

 

Substitute Teachers, Substitute School Nurses, Substitute Bus Drivers
and Substitute CNP Workers/Custodians

 The Butler County School System welcomes your interest to serve as a substitute employee in our system. Substitutes must complete an application process and attend an orientation/training session.   Orientation sessions are conducted periodically throughout the year and applicants will be notified by mail of the date and time of the meeting.  Applicants are required to possess a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.  Nurses are required to possess a valid, unencumbered Alabama nursing license.  Applicants must complete an ABI/FBI background clearance through the State Department of Education and apply for an Alabama Substitute Teacher License.  Substitute school bus drivers must possess a valid Alabama Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement and verification of an acceptable driving record.  A minimum of five (5) years licensed driving experience is required as well as certification as school bus driver by Alabama SDE and completion of drug, alcohol, and background screening as required by state and federal statutes.Additional information regarding these processes will be provided prior to the orientation session.
